Biography

Zahra Shahcheraghi (b. 1989 Tehran) explores themes of figuration, the human body and the concepts of sexuality. Inspired by the imaginations and curiosities of her childhood, the artist attempts to portray the concealed layers of the private sphere through the experience of womanhood. Imaginations that fade in a whimsical aura of vapour, combined with an arranged chromatic palette and the use of both abstract and figurative elements narrate the artist’s personal perception of the female body and her journey of self-discovery. Shahcheraghi has participated in several solo and group exhibitions since 2018.
