About the Artist
Enric Freund (1994, Germany) lives and works in Bremen. He studied painting at the University of the Arts Bremen, where he received his diploma in 2023 and completed his Meisterschüler degree in 2024. His works have been shown in several exhibitions in Germany, including at the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus and most recently at Spinnerei Leipzig, and are held in private collections in Europe and overseas. Enric Freund’s painting revolves around the perception of light and seeing as an immediate experience. His large-scale canvases unfold not as linear narratives, but as open visual fields that challenge and enrich the gaze. He approaches painting as a bodily practice, where movement, rhythm, and layering condense into images that do not tell stories, but rather intensify the very act of seeing.
