Intervals
There was a time in the early 20th century when geometry in art signalled the rise of an avant-garde and the belief that an art of “pure abstraction”, by divesting itself of all representational elements, could serve as a model for a new Utopian world. The fascination with the purity in geometry and colour is the core of Intervals, a celebration of the flux of our lives and a measure and reflection of our ever-shifting selves. Sharing attributes that have always been a touchstone of geometric abstraction, the artworks in this sale find their strength through precise balances of shapes and colours, able to tell spatial stories and allow a greater freedom of interpretation for the spectator.
