About the Artist

Meuffy (“MUFF-ee”) (b. 1993, USA) is an artist and writer based in Seattle, originally from New York. Primarily working in oil paint, Meuffy seeks to understand and embrace her Self, the human experience, and the unknown. Meuffy has shown her work in several galleries in Washington, California, and New York, including Soft Times Gallery, Voss Gallery, Collar Works, Fishbowl, Base Camp Studios, among others. Her work has been published by Createur Zine and Apricity Press. Meuffy will be participating in the Centre Pompadour in Northern France in the Fall 2023, and the Turps Banana Correspondence Course in the 2023/2024 class. Meuffy’s painterly language is characterized by her intuitive use of vibrant and ethereal color juxtapositions, dynamic brushstrokes, and soft textures, creating a sense of otherworldly beauty and mystery. Meuffy predominantly features the feminine figure, rendering her paintings with movement, emotion, and empowering compositions. Meuffy’s paintings both celebrate and explore the vulnerabilities of humanity, femininity, self-acceptance, and the interconnectedness of all things. Her recent work leans into raw, noncomformist femininity and sensuality. In rebellion against performative and aspirational femininity often imposed by the male gaze, Meuffy focuses on themes of connection to the inner child, intimacy and vulnerability, and surrender to Self.
