Biography

Sarah Edwards (b.,UK) creates images that avoid making ‘the pretty look pretty’, in subjects around fashion, nature and landscape. Working without post production or digital manipulation, the photographs are ‘edited’ at the time of shooting, in or in front of the camera using colour gels, waste materials and plastics. This hands-on method serves to diffuse the clarity of digital photography and create a more painterly image. Using a variety of non digital effects, Sarah incorporates her experience as a set designer to inform her decisions on props, content and composition. Sarah lives and works in London, UK.
