Biography
Noor's paintings deal with the nature of themselves. They speak of the is-ness of the moment of their creation. An impulse to paint is what brings this moment about, an expression of her own consciousness. When the artist draws, she follow the line and when she paints, she follows colour. Painting is a suspension within time, and a means of rupturing it completely. Noor believes it is a Dionysian practice, devoting herself to the canvas in this perfectly chaotic way, seeing before you a sacred space free from terms and meaning. Something that just is and continues. Painting is the most comfortable discomfort.
