Biography

Connie Harrison (b. 1993) Is a painter living and working in London. Connie graduated from Chelsea College of Arts in 2016. Recent Shows include 'Small is Beautiful' at Flowers Gallery, 'British Painting II' at Bermondsey Project Space and a Residency programme at Unit 1 Gallery Workshop. She has worked with both Bombay Sapphire and Net-A-Porter.

Through surfaces and their variations compositions emerge slowly, through a process of layering and stripping away. The composition is divided but balanced so as to stimulate a roving eye. I am exploring how images are conveyed and transformed through memory and how the sensory might be reshaped through an intelligence that sits outside of words and symbols. I intend to present a painting with the basic tangibility of a sculpture or a sculpture with the graphic vigour of a painting. To engage not with a surface but with a sedimentation of surfaces and one which promotes pause, and draws out instinctual desires.
