About the Artist
Amy Winstanley (b.1983, Scotland) is Scottish artist whose practice explores painting as a process of taking hold of one's own perceptions. Her works depict a conscious and/or sub-conscious terrain - reflecting life in continual flux and the potential to be something else entirely. She researches different ways of interpreting this world through ideas of ecological, post-human and feminist thinking and through experiences of love and loss, from the mundane to the spiritual. Amy is interested in the immediacy of paint to be a means to link thought and 'non-thought' of these notions. Amy lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
