About the Artist
Daniel Kuge (b. 1984, Germany) is a German artist whose artworks, despite their hermetic, serious and technoid appearance, explore the theme of humanity, its relation to its environment and its legacies. Analogies in archaic times, the industrialized Anthropocene and an indefinite future are captured and explored; the archetypal mixes with the technological. His works become relics that tell of the enigmatic nature of the world that humanity shapes. The relationship between humans and their object-world is reflected on their smooth and monochrome surfaces. An oscillation between the profane and sacred, the material and virtual, and between utopia and dystopia occurs. Daniel lives and works in Braunschweig, Germany.
