About the Artwork
Fragmented woman is part of a series of drawings and collage works on paper using paper cutouts from my Folded Female sculptural series, depicting the female body in movement. This reuse of materials inspires a new composition using the cut-out shapes to express the female body. Drawing upon the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, the art of finding beauty in the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
