Bit Sour, 2022
Acrylic on watercolor paper
About the Artist
Holly Elan Watson (b.1995, UK) works with inks and acrylics to create intimate and playful paintings inspired by the everyday. Her works often explore sexuality, taste and touch through the depiction of various fruits and foods, playing with the viewer’s senses and engaging their imagination with a subtle humour. She uses bright, indulgent colours to paint her cropped and intimate works and celebrates the beauty in potentially overlooked moments and areas of merging and uncontrollable colour. Holly lives and works in London, UK.
About the Artwork
This painting is all about the senses. By cropping the image I wanted to capture an intimate and sensual moment, and encourage the viewer to question what those slimy, sour passion fruit seeds might feel or taste like on their own tongue.
