Biography

Thomas Allen (b.1989, UK) is a visual artist who is fascinated by how the personal and the universal relate to one another. The most deeply personal of experiences often turns out to have a profoundly universal significance; and conversely, the most general of expressions can resonate with the greatest intimacy. Thomas takes lead from the artwork, which is to say the creative process is a dance between himself, the materials and the image. Thomas is not in complete control. And this approach gives space for unconscious expression, so that his work is an exploration of internal landscapes.
