Biography

Molly Benge (b.1997, UK) is an artist and illustrator whose work explores the relationship between ecology, gender and sexuality through symbolic imagery drawn from the natural world. They use the fluid and multi-layered qualities of watercolour to describe fantastical worlds in which the transient cycles of nature act as portals into our own inner worlds. In landscapes arranged amid psychedelic curlicules of mysticism and fairytales, Molly’s paintings show the parallels between the queer experience, the shedding of binaries and the gentle unfurling of identity, and our natural ecosystem, itself in a constant process of growth and decay, of being and becoming. Molly lives and works in London, UK.
