In The Studio

Matthew Uebbing (b. 1989, USA) is a visual artist whose graphic paintings play with the illusion of visual depth evoked through the process of layering imagery. He will often translate images from his sketchbooks or camera roll into digital drawings that he projects onto physical surfaces and renders with acrylic paint. Matthew’s recent works act as portholes into a parallel reality, wherein our understanding of objects as “real” or “imagined” is dissolved, and the bodies/symbols he depicts live on an intangible, half-digital plane. Matthew lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
