Biography

Kayten Schmidt (b. 1982, USA) is an American artist whose work merges the minimal and romantic. Deliberately limiting her method to working with natural sunlight and her immediate surroundings, she often uses her own body as the subject matter of her intimate, sensual images, using the naked form not only to explore femininity but also shape and light. Her photographs, meticulous and playful, thus act both as a personal record and also, through the process of their creation, a setting in which to imagine. Kayten lives and works in Los Angeles, USA.
