Biography

Julia Bennett (b.1995, USA) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice strives to inform and engage transdisciplinary thinking in the time of the Anthropocene. Julia's work recognises the inherited, biological, and violent nature we possess, seeking to provoke in order to dismantle this behaviour. Emotional in form, yet intellectual in composition - lived experience, research and reflection accumulate onto the 'rag on the wall' in repetitive, instinctual movements. Her recent work explores human / nonhuman behaviour; confronting and questioning the inherent violence that has become normalised. Julia lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
