Jamie Kirk (b.1995, UK) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice intrinsically explores emotions associated with the human experience, predominantly autobiographical albeit ambiguously. With each piece conceived from an unspoken phrase or feeling, the content of Jamie's practice is fuelled by humorous remarks, cynical observations and personal confessions which he feels can only be conveyed in this manner. With an imprecise visual goal in mind, Jamie allows the work to partially dictate itself, which frequently cascades into a series of tangents akin to the thoughts that inspire it. Controlled moments of sparsity underpin these chaotic flourishes, providing a considered framework amidst the expressive, unbiased mark making. The solidification of the paint signifies a milestone reached within this process, forcing Jamie to either move on from it, or return to reiterate its potential intention. Jamie lives and works in West Yorkshire, UK.
