Isabella Gullo (b.1996, Brazil) is a visual artist whose paintings rely on a bodily interaction with the canvas, where processes of layering, scratching, and erasure of paint becomes key to the creation of imagery. This process, heavily routed in the materiality of paint, evokes the importance of tactility through Isabella's practice. The figures featured in Isabella's paintings, mainly women, exist in a blurry interplay of strength and vulnerability, questioning the line between the human and the animal, loss of control and submission. Isabella lives and works in London, UK.
