Biography
Evie Mae Jacobs (b.1995, UK) is an artist currently based in London whose work focuses on the relationship we have as humans to sensory experience. Immersed in the idea softness, she paints figures and faces that often merge with diaphanous materials to become dreamlike landscapes. After studying Fine Art at Newcastle University, Evie’s techniques with oil paint are largely traditional. Her inspiration, however, comes from a diverse range of sources from Renaissance drapery painting to film stills and contemporary window displays. Exploring comfort, nostalgia and human connection in many forms, Evie’s practice leans into the slow, soothing nature of its own process and aesthetic.
