Biography

Anní Mara (b.1995, Iceland) is an Icelandic artist who is working between Iceland and the UK. Employing photography and writing into her practice, Mara‘s images are rooted in the relationship of personal and social, heavily influenced around the notion of anthropology, legacy, and one’s psychology. She investigates the memories- very private- and makes them available to the audience. Mara‘s artistic language avoids any extra noise, creating clean, minimalistic and often abstract images, focused on one subject and message at the time. Anní lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
