Biography

Aamina Hoosain (b.1995, South Africa) is a self-taught artist whose artistic endeavours began in 2015 but escalated in February 2019 when she began practising as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist.
“In my artwork, I actively explore and experiment with different textures to create actual and perceived depth. It is in the depth where I relieve the burdens that children with disabilities carry, and where I find the hope and strength to create empowered and sustainable communities.” Art is the force that keeps her grounded, well-balanced and energised to look after the children entrusted to her. Hoosain lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa.
