Biography

Ali Ferro Kirby (b.1997, UK) uses painting, drawing, print making in an attempt to communicate subconscious ideas. Her works usually begin with the process of automatic drawing, which she then works into in order to bring forward images that emerge; transforming abstract gestures into legible forms and characterising these internal states with cartoon-like imagery. In these works forms often slip between two opposing states; real and un-real, internal and external, tangible and abstract, and she is interested in the messy intersections where these two opposites meet. Ali lives and works in Cheltenham, UK.
